For the past several months, my mom, sister, and I have been anxiously working on some kitchen renovations. While the vast majority has been done with contractors, we've completed yet another phase in the process, and we have had a new backsplash installed.
This one is quite a bit different than the glass tiles that we were considering here, but they definitely work well with the rest of the house.

The elements are definitely starting to come together, and there are just a couple things we're still waiting to do. New bar stools have been chosen and will look great with the rest of the kitchen. Paint colors have been narrowed down, but are still up for debate.
The only thing that we're still thinking about changing - partially due to the price - is the hardware. The standard gold hardware just doesn't quite fit with all of the changes made in the house over the past several years, but replacing the 30+ individual pieces is turning into a bit of an undertaking.
I definitely like the way the whole thing is turning out - it certainly makes a good central area for the home. With the changes to the island, the addition of the backsplash, and the changes through the rest of the kitchen, the renovation is definitely coming along very well.
