Welcoming little ones into the world is one of my favorite things about knitting and crocheting. I love to do custom pieces and think about what would be a good fit for the family and the baby. In some cases, like this one, I'm asked for something specific.
I made this Yoda outfit based on patterns that I was lucky enough to get for my own kids, and I added a few twists to the patterns. The hat was largely based on a hat from my husband's aunt, Deb. I had a tough time reading the stitches since I crochet left handed, but I was able to really make something I'm very proud of. For my own little twist, I added some tufts of hair right at the ear openings in a slightly different color green. This really softened the harshness of the seaming for the ears.
The sweater is based entirely on one of my mom's patterns, and she helps me brainstorm with my crochet techniques frequently. The big addition for this was the belt: I decided to make it part of the fabric through the back with a tie in the front.
