It was an amazing experience that was hosted at my college when I was still a student: the College of St. Catherine (now St. Catherine University). All of the products that we did, I hooked my mom and my sister in for crochet items, went into their silent auction. The quilt and two coordinating pillows that I made raised $200, and the pink winter set - hat, mittens, scarf - raised $75. It was such a great experience for a good cause! I only wish I'd had the foresight to take some pictures!
I'm into the end of the first week on this much smaller quilt, and I'm still surprised by the amount of time and energy it takes. Quilting is forcing me to be patient and really focus on the experience of creating. It's a different set up and a different stitch than I normally use when I crochet, so I'm excited to see how the whole thing turns out when it's done. So far, I'm thrilled with the results!
